Astrology Lessons - Dasha-Bhukti Analysis (Timing Events)

In every **Maha Dasha** (Main Period), there are nine **Antar Dashas** (Sub-periods or Bhuktis). While the Maha Dasha sets the overall theme of a life period, the Bhukti lord decides the specific flavor and timing of events during that time. To predict accurately, we must analyze the relationship between the Dasha lord and the Bhukti lord.

Relationship Type General Results and Impact
Friendly Lords If the Dasha and Bhukti lords are mutual friends (e.g., Sun Dasha - Jupiter Bhukti), the period will be highly **auspicious**, bringing success and mental peace.
Inimical Lords If they are enemies (e.g., Sun Dasha - Saturn or Rahu Bhukti), the time is often filled with **struggles**, conflicts, and mental unrest.
6-8-12 Placement If the Bhukti lord is in the 6th, 8th, or 12th house from the Dasha lord, it is called **Shadashtaka** or **Dwirdwadasha**. This often causes obstacles, illness, or losses even if the planets are friends.
Yogakarakas If both planets are Yogakarakas and placed in Kendras or Trines, that Bhukti can bring **sudden wealth**, fame, or a major promotion.
