It is primarily called 'Putra Sthana' (House of Children), 'Purva Punya Sthana' (Past Life Merits), and 'Mantra Sthana'. As a Trikona (Trine) house (1, 5, 9), it is one of the most auspicious houses in a horoscope and is also considered a Lakshmi Sthana (House of Grace and Wealth).

The Fifth House symbolizes a person's intellect, creativity, and divine grace. Its significations are categorized below:

  • Second Sibling: The 3rd house represents the younger sibling. The 3rd from the 3rd is the 5th house. Therefore, it represents our second younger brother or sister.
  • Luck of Father: The 9th house is the father's house. The 9th from the 9th is the 5th house. Hence, it indicates the father's luck or righteousness (and sometimes grandfathers).
  • Gains of Spouse: Being the 11th from the 7th house, it signifies the friends or income of the spouse.
