Sun - Auspicious and Inauspicious Analysis for Twelve Ascendants
In astrology, the results provided by a planet depend more on its lordship (Bhava Adhipatyam) for a particular Ascendant than on the sign it occupies. The Sun is the significator of the soul (Atmakaraka), father (Pitrukaraka), and authority (Rajyakaraka). - Directional Strength: Regardless of the Ascendant, if the Sun is in the 10th house, the person will possess significant authority in their profession.
- Cancellation of Debilitation: For Libra Ascendant, if the Sun is debilitated in the Lagna, self-confidence may be low. However, if Venus or Saturn is in a Kendra, "Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga" is formed.
- Maraka Status: Although the Sun is a Maraka lord for Cancer and Aquarius Ascendants, some texts state that the Sun and Moon do not suffer from the "Ashtama Dosha" (8th house defect). However, Maraka results are experienced when the Dasha arrives.
