Since 2004, OnlineJyotish.com has aimed to publish accurate, respectful and transparent Jyotish content—from daily Panchanga to festival timings calculated with astronomical precision. This policy explains how we research, review, and update what you read on our site.

1) Mission & Scope

Our goal is to provide devotees and students of Jyotisha with reliable calculations (e.g., Sankashti Chaturthi moonrise, eclipses), classical references, and practical guidance (vrata, muhurta) in multiple languages.

2) Sourcing Standards

• Classical texts: Dharma Sindhu, Nirnaya Sindhu, standard Drik Ganita Panchanga paddhati, and accepted Jyotisha granthas for ritual rules (vrata niyamas).
• Astronomy: Swiss Ephemeris (swetest) for planetary positions, with timezone/DST handling and topocentric adjustments where relevant.
• Cross-checks: Spot-checks against authoritative almanacs and community-verified observations for edge cases (e.g., post-midnight moonrise).

3) Review & Fact-Checking

• Calculations: Derived by PHP server-side calls (exec) to swetest and independently reviewed before publishing public calculators.
• Ritual/vrata content: Reviewed by the editor ( Gollapelli Santhosh Kumar Sharma) for consistency with classical sources and regional practices where noted.
• Language editions: Translations retain meaning and tone; we avoid literal but misleading renderings.

4) Updates & Versioning

• Time-bound pages (e.g., annual vrat dates) are recalculated yearly or when users report location-specific discrepancies.
• Substantive changes are timestamped and summarized; minor edits (grammar, formatting) are not individually logged.

5) Independence, Conflicts & Monetization

• Editorial decisions are independent of advertisers or sponsors.
• Display ads do not influence calculator outputs, rankings, or remedies.
• We disclose paid services clearly and avoid undisclosed affiliate placements.

6) Use of Automation & AI

• AI may assist with grammar, internal linking, and translation drafts.
• No automated publishing: all content is reviewed by a human editor before going live.
• Numerical outputs (timings, charts) come from deterministic code using Swiss Ephemeris; these are not AI-generated.
