Planetary Remedies (Graha Shanti)

What does Graha Shanti mean?

Graha Shanti is worship offered for peace and the blessings of the grahas in Vedic astrology. These traditions include prayer, mantra repetition, charitable giving and fire rituals.

The traditional nine grahas include the Sun and Moon, the five visible planets, and Rahu and Ketu, the lunar nodes. Choose a graha below to read its mantra and ritual instructions.

Mantra, stotra, puja and Yagya: where to begin

Mantra and japa
A mantra is a sacred formula; japa means repeating it. The individual guides include their traditional repetition counts and pronunciation advice.
Stotra and parayana
A stotra is a hymn of praise, and parayana is its devotional recitation. Use the Telugu stotra directory or the Roman-letter readings to find a prayer.
Puja and Yagya
Puja is worship with offerings. A Yagya, also called homa or havan, uses a sacred fire and is usually led by trained priests. Ask about the procedure and arrangements before booking.
Dana
Dana means charitable giving. Each graha guide lists the offerings associated with that tradition.

Reading the guidance

Do I need a particular remedy?

These pages explain traditional practices. A difficulty in daily life does not by itself identify a planetary affliction. If you want a chart-based discussion, start with your birth chart or contact OnlineJyotish.

Does a remedy guarantee a result within a fixed time?

No fixed result or timetable can be promised. The chanting counts and schedules described on these pages belong to particular devotional practices. They should not be read as guarantees about health, money or other life events.
