Astrology Lessons - Classified House Significations

In previous lessons, we learned about the 12 houses individually. However, while analyzing a horoscope or answering a query in Prashna Shastra, it is crucial to remember these significations Category-wise. For instance, if someone asks about "Health," which houses should we look at? If they ask about "Wealth," which ones are relevant? This categorization provides that clarity. In this lesson, we will analyze the Lagna and Second house in depth.

1. First House (Lagna Bhava) - "Tanu Bhava"

Nature: It is both a Kendra and a Trikona. It is the foundation for the native.

Section Significations
Personal Overall personality, mindset, intelligence, self-control, character, reputation, and the ambition to grow in life.
Body Head, brain, hair, skin, complexion, immunity, conditions at birth, and childhood.
Social & Other The present time, place of birth, and recognition in society.

2. Second House (Dhana Bhava)

Important Note: This is also a Maraka Sthana. Therefore, it should be examined carefully regarding health and longevity.
Section Significations
Financial Wealth, liquid cash, bank balance, valuables (gold/gems), movable assets, and financial security.
Personal & Speech Manner of speaking, linguistic proficiency, honesty (truthfulness), foresight, and eloquence.
Body Parts Face, right eye, nose, mouth, tongue, and teeth.
Family & Society Family, family maintenance, second marriage after the death of a spouse, and helping close relatives.

Pro Tip for Analysis

In horoscope analysis, to see if a person "will earn money," look at the 11th House (Gains). But to see if "the earned money will stay," look at the 2nd House (Wealth). Also, a strong 2nd house ensures the native stands by their word (Vakshuddhi).
