Monthly Shraddha Tithi Calendar 2026
Ensure your ancestral rituals (Pitru Karya) are performed on the correct day. This calendar identifies the Aparahna Vyapini Tithi—the only valid timing for Shraddha according to Dharma Shastra.
Quick Summary: The Golden Rule
- The Rule: For Shraddha, the Tithi must exist during the Aparahna Kaala (Afternoon), not necessarily at Sunrise.
- Confusion: Because of this rule, the "Shraddha Date" often differs from the "Calendar Date" seen in standard almanacs.
- Solution: This tool calculates the Aparahna window for your specific city to find the exact date.

Why Standard Calendars Get It Wrong
Most wall calendars follow the Udaya Tithi (Sunrise Tithi) rule, which is valid for festivals like Diwali or Rama Navami. However, for Shraddha (Death Anniversary), the scriptures explicitly state that the Tithi must be dominant in the afternoon (Aparahna).
Glossary of Shraddha Terms
