The Ethics of an Astrologer (Daivagna)

While learning astrology is vital, the qualities of the practitioner are equally important. According to our scriptures, a true Daivagna (Astrologer) should embody the following virtues:

"Adweshi nitya-santushtah ganitagama paragah|
Muhurtaguna doshagno vagmi kushala-buddhiman||"

This means that only one who is free from hatred, remains content, possesses mathematical mastery, and is an eloquent, skillful communicator can accurately analyze astrology. When these qualities are cultivated, the predictions rendered become truthful and effective.
